Fame
Is what you achieve fame?
Or is it just that people know your name?
It can’t be something lame,
That brings shame.
Could you be famous for being an amateur?
Than for what you did best?
Maybe you would have to be different
from the rest.
There are faces that gain fame,
For decades their name remains.
Worshiped as idols by some,
Providing inspiration ever so often.
The fine line between egotism and fame,
If crossed he could be puffed up by vainglory.
That’s when his fame has hit his brain,
And a common man would think him insane.
I looked into the mirror
And saw myself wonder,
‘Do I admire a person for what he has gained?
Or just to gain his fame?’
